For instant access to information, Wikipedia appears to offer a powerful teaching tool. For example, if the topic is phonetics and phonology, students can access the international Phonetic Alphabet, and when they are unclear of a term, they can simply click on it. This is using the ability of hyperlinks to their best advantage.
